What does a typical wedding day timeline look like?

 

A wedding day is one of the most important and memorable days in a couple's life, filled with love, joy, and celebration. However, planning a wedding can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to creating the perfect timeline for the big day. A well-planned wedding day timeline is essential to ensure everything runs smoothly and that you have plenty of time to enjoy every moment with your loved ones. From getting ready to saying "I do" to dancing the night away, a perfectly curated timeline can help make your wedding day stress-free and unforgettable.


Provided below is a typical timeline for a 4PM ceremony, taking into account everything from hair and makeup to the final send-off. Whether you're a bride-to-be or a wedding planner, this guide will help you create a stress-free and unforgettable wedding day.


8:00am - Suggested wake up time, have some coffee, take a shower and get ready to get ready

10:00am - 12pm Girls hair and makeup. “Getting Ready” & "Details" photos are taken. Have a sandwich and a drink 10:00am - 12pm Guys get cleaned up and bring your clothes to getting ready location. Have a sandwich, have a drink, get changed and wait for getting ready shots. 1:00pm - Leave to be at venue no later than 2pm (if applicable) 2:00pm - First look (optional, but recommended) 2:15pm - Bridal Party Portraits (optional, but recommended) 3:30pm - All bridal party line up while guests arrive, parents should be lined up by 4pm. 4:00pm - Que the music, the procession will start, and the ceremony will begin 4:45pm - Ceremony is over, hugs and kisses, cocktail hour and comingling begins. Bridal Party Portraits and Bride and Groom photo session with extended family members. 6:10pm - Bridal party que to make an entrance.

6:20pm - Introductions, feel free to be silly or dance your way in. Bride and Groom are introduced last and immediately begin the first dance 6:30pm - Dinner time 7:00pm - Maid of Honor and Best Man toast (continue with dinner) 7:30pm - Bride and Groom cut the cake, desert will be served 7:50pm - Music starts 8:00pm - Everyone needs to be on the dance floor! Yay!

8:30pm - Garter removal and/or other shenanigans

10:50pm - Last call 11:00pm - Clean up
